Meet the people responsible for C4's mission to the community
Learn more about the board of directors, our executive team, and all of those who help make C4 what it is now and will be in the future.
Kerri Brown joined C4 in February of 2021 as Chief Operating Officer and became President and CEO shortly after, in August of that year. Before coming to C4, he took on a number of roles in behavioral healthcare, including Chief Administrative Officer, Vice President of Operations, Director of Human Resources, and Associate Counsel. Brown is a decorated veteran, having served as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers. Kerri earned his juris doctorate from the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and his Master of Laws (LLM) degree in real estate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He is licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar Association, with certifications in an array of professional institutes and programs.
Laurie Mullin joined C4 in June of 2021 as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Office and Board Secretary. Prior to joining the team, she worked as an Office Manager at HealthSpring from 2004 to 2012 before moving to Combined Insurance as an Executive Assistant. Laurie is extremely detail-oriented and known for staying cool under pressure to make sure jobs exceed expectations.
Jerrard Walker, RN, LCSW, CADC, SAP, CAMS-II joined C4 in 2025. He obtained his Master of Social Work from Wayne State University - School of Social Work. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Resurrection University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a Minor in Social Work from Oakland University. Jerrard completed his social work training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. He was one of the architects who established the CCHHS CountyCare program. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and reading.
Katherine Maitha became the Controller of C4 in October 2020 and manages the Finance Department, overseeing daily accounting, grant and budget accounting, external audit processes, and maintaining policies and procedures. She’s also a member of our Finance and Senior Leadership Committees. Prior to C4, Katherine worked in various accounting, human resources, and risk management roles for private, nonprofit, and public entities and even owned and managed her own catering company.
As Senior Director of People and Engagement at C4, Jamileh McKnight plays a pivotal role in fostering a people-first culture and supporting the organization’s mission-driven work. With a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and extensive experience in HR leadership across retail, corporate, and nonprofit sectors, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Jamileh is passionate about creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered. She strives to be a trusted resource and champion for C4’s team, ensuring that engagement and people-centered leadership remain at the heart of the organization. Beyond her professional achievements, Jamileh has a deep love for animals—having owned almost every type of furry pet at some point! In her free time, she enjoys reading and continuously expanding her knowledge. She is proud to be part of C4 and to contribute to the incredible work being done to support communities across Chicago.
An architect of connections and a catalyst for change, Brandy Walker is a leader and advocate for transformation and community. Brandy spent nearly a decade as a public school teacher before redirecting her entrepreneurial mindset to innovate within the non-profit space. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Urban Education with a specialization in Leadership. Prior to C4, Brandy has traversed between developing innovative educational programming, orchestrating fundraising events, and cultivating donor pipelines. For Brandy, it's not just about fundraising; it's about nurturing enduring relationships that underpin sustainable change, each connection a step toward a brighter, more impactful future.
Steve Trolinger joined C4 as a Business Analyst in October 2013, bringing with him over twenty years of project management, software development, collaboration, and business analysis skills. Steve’s responsibilities, knowledge, and skills have continued to expand in the years since, and his focus is always on seeking the best value and developing relationships with those who wish to partner with C4 to achieve our mission.
